Polyclad flatworm

Pseudobiceros bedfordi

Raja Empat, Papua, Indonesia

Fuji F2 105 mm 1/125 @ f/38

Gosliner et al. (a great invertebrate ID book) describes P. bedfordi as one of the "most well known and frequently seen Indo-Pacific flatworms." Well, I'd never seen one before. But I might try to copyright its amazing pattern as a design for a sports shoe.

This worm is fast and aggressive enough to capture and consume crustaceans. P. Bedfordi's other great distinction is that individuals (all individuals, polyclad's are beyond gender) sport two penises.
