Mangroves and soft corals, barrel sponge

Some of the small islands west of Misool that are criss-crossed with mangrove-lined channels. Powerful currents circulate fresh seawater hrough the channels, which are filled with corals and reef fish right up to the roots of the mangroves on each bank.

Mangroves more frequently are found growing in muddly areas with long sloping shores, which are difficult to approach. This was a perfect place to try some more over/under shots.
