This animal was encountered very close to an entrance to the park.

Most large predators and other animals such as lions in South Africa are now largely confined to parks and reserves, but leopards are still common all over Africa, including areas close to human habitation. But these secretive nocturnal predators are rarely seen. One leopard was recently discovered living happily but discreetly in a Pretoria sports stadium.
